I am trying to convince my dad to start changing his diet to a more vegan-esque one [as far into it as I can] because I believe it will help him with his health issues, and because it has helped me and naturally I want the best for him!
My dad has Rheumatoid Arthritis and type 2 diabetes. He's morbidly obese but has since been losing a little weight. He's very advanced in his RA and uses a walker right now and has severe edema.
I've been trying to get him to a healthier lifestyle for a long time and he's finally opening up to my helping him out and changing things for him. I told him we can take it slow but that ultimately this is a great lifestyle change with a great community.
I'm wondering if there's anyone here who has some stories of how a transition to veganism has helped them with RA, diabetes, or any other ailment to which healthier living has aided them to get their lives back. It would be the most amazing thing in the world to maybe get my dad walking around again [his mobility is very limited] and just to give him a life.
Thanks in advance :]
